Using a foundation based on scientific evidence, the Össur Academy provides a multidisciplinary approach to the support of medical and rehabilitation systems. Support provided by Össur Academy among colleagues is aimed at encouraging continual professional development and clinical competence. Support is also extended to providing awareness of current clinical options with justification to representatives of governmental reimbursement systems, prosthetic/orthotic users and their families. Regional Össur Academy centres located in Australia, California, Sweden, Holland and newly in the Czech republic offer academic and practical educational lectures delivered by a core team of internationl presenters and consultants.
The presentation of bionic technology used for lower limb prosthesis was also part of opening seminar. Using the Artifical Inteligence (AI) for the function of prosthesis helps users to achieve higher quality of walk. Össur Academy East Europe Opening
New regional centre of Össur Academy - Össur Academy East Europe was opened here in Frydek – Mistek on Thursday, 25 January 2007. Specialists form Slovakia, Romania, Poland and Hungaria were participating in this first seminar. Össur Academy is the educational institution founded by Össur company, leader in technological innovation and education, in the year 2000. New training and educational centre opened in Czech republic is the fifth regional Össur Academy facility in the World.
